The original of CLGM

Our living spaces are gradually being consumed by 3C electronic waste. Although recycling 3C electronic waste seems like a solution, the waste circuit boards produced in the process are difficult to manage. They contain PCB glass fiber powder, which includes brominated flame retardants and heavy metals. If incinerated, they release toxic gases; if landfilled, they wasteland resources and pollute groundwater, as they do not decompose effectively. According to statistics, nearly 40% of waste PCB glass fiber powder in Taiwan is stored long-term in recycling plants. As more landfills close, companies will face rising disposal costs.

SDTI’s 20-Year Journey in Electronic Waste Recycling

As early as 2001, SDTI actively began researching the recycling of electronic waste into eco-friendly materials. After more than 20 years of effort, in 2023, SDTI collaborated with TAIPEI TECH, obtaining an exclusive patent license and achieving a breakthrough in the technology of recycling glass fiber powder.

Research team

The "CL" in CLGM not only stands for the abbreviation of Super Dragon Technology (Chia Long) but also represents the initials of two core members of the research team: Professor Lee from the Department of Civil Engineering and Professor Cheng from the Department of Materials and Resources Engineering at TAIPEI TECH.

Chia Long Green Materials, CLGM

CLGM is a high-performance geopolymer sustainable material. Utilizing the patented CL molecular blending technology, it fundamentally alters the molecular structure of glass fiber powder, transforming it into a high-quality geopolymer sustainable material.

 

CLGM has broad applications, ranging from wall and floor tiles to fire-resistant reinforced fiber cement boards, showcasing its strong versatility. With 3D printing technology, it can even be customized into environmentally friendly products such as public artworks, eco-friendly trophies, and cultural and creative merchandise.
